with a high-capacity six-speed ZF S6-650 manual is standard with
Vortec 8100 or DURAMAX 6.6-liter turbo diesel engines; Allison®
1000 Series five-speed automatic is available with Vortec 6000
V8 engine; Heavy-duty five-speed manual is standard and electronically
controlled four-speed 4L80E automatic is optional. ( available
with the short box or long box).
Both
the short and long box 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cabs come
with a standard Vortec 6000 V8 (standard) with 300 horsepower
engine.
Optional
engines on both models: Vortec 8100 V8 (available) with 340 horsepower,
DURAMAX™ 6600 Turbo Diesel V8 (available) with 300 horsepower
engine.
